The problem has now been resolved by the removal of the bin... but the rubbish has been left behind.

The body of Simon John Beard aged 37 from Ashdown Close Southport was found in the Leeds & Liverpool canal in Halsall yesterday at 5pm.
It is thought that John suffered an epileptic fit while riding his bicycle along the embankment and fell into the canal.

Once again Princess Park has been left looking like a rubbish dump after a big event at the weekend. Someone must be responsible for not doing their job properly.

Mrs Roberts the victim of the drink drive horse riding accident is still suffering from the aftermath of the accident last week. Her horse killed on Hesketh Lane, Hesketh Bank and as you can see she is still bruised and battered but says " I am lucky to be alive after the early afternoon incident"...

The fire brigade were called to Ben retirement home on Duke Street this afternoon, where the automatic fire alarms had triggered.
Two fire engines attended the scene to investigate, the problem was found to be an electrical fault in the alarm system. So no fire, no casualities and the firemen left...

Five people were taken to Southport & Formby Hospital (10.30pm tonight) after two cars were involved in a accident at the corner of Cemetry Rd and Duke St. The people taken to hospital suffered minor injuries.

Well the Airshow finished around 5 pm (I think).....

The queues were still snaking down to Kew roundabout from Meols Cop Bridge and Eastbank Street Bridge at 8 pm tonight.

Macmillan Cancer Relief charity held their fundraising day
in Princess Diana Gardens Lord St this afternoon.
Line dancers from all over the north west enjoyed themselves dancing to help raise money for the Macmillan charity.

Two fire engines raced to Colins Garden Centre Southport Road Scarisbrick less than an hour ago.

Prisoner Karl Fletcher aged 32 from Birkdale Southport was discovered by prison officers hanging in his prison cell less than a week after beginning an 8-month prison sentence for theft. At approx 5.15pm today at the junction of Hawkshead Street bridge and Tithebarn Road a motorist in a Jeep towing a Renault 5 turbo was in a collision with a Honda Accord car.
Both male drivers were taken to Southport & Formby hospital suffering from minor injuries.

Today saw the final stages of the landmark removal of the telephone mast at Rose Hill. This was the scene as the heavy crane prepared to lift the mast from it's base.
