The emergency services were called to Hesketh Park at approximately 3.30pm today Monday 20th February 2012 after a member of the public reportedly found a male in the trees.

It is believed the man has committed suicide and there are no suspicious circumstances.

must be a horrible reason to do such a thing and i feel very sorry for him and his family but WHY in the park where kids and family wander, the mind boggles. but RIP my thoughts are with his family.

RIP to the poor man concerned, to see that there is no other way out but to take your own life is very sad. I do wonder why some stories are left open to comments, and some are not, I take for example my dad's passing only 2 weeks ago, it was reported as an unexplained death on the news forum and thread was closed....some may say that suicide is selfish and cowardly, but having lost a close friend by hanging and now the more recent events, to know that you are going to end your own life is a difficult decision, and I think a brave one, it takes courage to do that.......of course the suicidal persons mind will be in an awful state at the time, otherwise we wouldn't read about things like this.

For the negative comments here, whilst I do see your points about children in the area etc, the man would have had a reason for committing suicide where he did. There is always a reason.

I think any thread involving a suicide or unexplained death should be left closed, too many idiots on here to have a go at the deceased.....remember some poor family will be grieving tonight having lost a loved one xx
