Sadly a lot of people will happily buy them fully aware that they are stolen, such is modern day society.

What has modern day society got to do with it?
Fencing has been going on since Dickens was alive.

Dickens did some fencing for me.

    Course it's falling down now.

More than that; there are lot of bogus cigarettes on the market with amazingly high tar contents, a robbery like this gives the handlers a good chance to offload counterfeit Marlboros, people would more readily buy a stolen fag than one that they suspected was made in China.

With the price of fags now they probably could fit them all in a handbag

And they weren't Marlboro either ( L&B) A customer of Bookers told me, also mentioned 30.000 as a total, (but that may just have been for insurance purposes)
