Chris Haw with his father Steve Haw
In 2010 the Vital Sounds Foundation (VSF) was formed following the tragic and sudden death of Southport lad, Chris Haw aged 25.
Chris was a much loved son, brother, grandson and friend to many people throughout his local community and across the NW. He died, aged 25 from SADS – Sudden Adult Death Syndrome. He was a fit and healthy young man who presented no previous heart conditions whatsoever. 12 apparently fit and healthy young people aged between 15–35 die EVERY WEEK in the UK from undiagnosed heart conditions.
The VSF Charity was founded to create 3 important objectives:
To raise awareness of SADS
To screen young people from across the North West for undiagnosed heart conditions in partnership with the Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital (LHCH)
To promote health and wellbeing through healthy lifestyle choices
