SERIOUS ASSAULT - VICTORY AVE, SOUTHPORT
Detectives in Sefton are appealing for information following an incident at an address in Victory Avenue, Southport on Friday, 10 February.
At around 9.30pm, a 70-year-old man and his 46-year-old daughter were downstairs in their house when three men approached the front of their property. Two of the men entered the house through an open front ground floor window.**Once inside the two men assaulted the man and his daughter, hitting them both with a hammer several times before leaving the house again via the window.
The man and daughter managed to raise the alarm and were treated in hospital for wounds to their head and arms.*A 47-year-old man was also in the house at the time but was in a different room at the time of the attack and was uninjured.
The offenders are described only as wearing dark clothing and balaclavas.
Detective Constable Mulcahy said: "This was a despicable assault on two innocent members of the public, who as a result of this incident, no longer feel safe in their own home.
"This house is in a busy residential area, and there is a street light directly outside of the property. I'm sure that someone would have noticed these two men entering the house or even all three loitering outside. Any information about this incident, no matter how small, would greatly assist with our enquiries.
"At this stage of the investigation*the motive for the attack is unknown*and enquiries are on-going with the victims. Extensive house to house enquiries are being conducted in the area and CCTV is being sought."
Anyone who has any information about this incident is asked to contact 0151 777 3118 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

So big hard David sat in another room whilst his Dad and Sister took a hiding.
Feel sorry for these two, Cedrick has brought the three up on his own, always worked to look after his family, hope they get better soon and the people responsible for this appalling attack face justice.
