There we go again with another RTC on the coast road. Lets wait for all the expert opinions to start appearing on here as to how this one happened.

It's not rocket science is it. It's quite simply bad driving.
Accidents don't just happen...... They are caused by bad drivers.

Which is the reason the police stopped calling them Road traffic Accidents and changed it to Road Traffic Crashes.

Agree 90% of time - there is always medical or vehicle failure, but they ARE rare these days - DP (fridge)

Not so, in the main you are correct, but there can be a number of other factors.

Driver taken ill (heart attack, black out etc)

Mechanical failure (Wheel comes off, brakes / steering fail)

Until we know all the facts, best not to speculate

These things do happen.....Bad enough when they then collide with another car - while a far worse outcome awaits the more vulnerable road-user. One very good reason to keep motor traffic well separated from pedestrians/riders etc.

    N.B. Hoping victims fully recover.

I'm the one playing Mr Pedantic this time. The RTC was on Marine Drive, not the Coastal Road (if between Hesketh Drive and Marshside Road)...:-)

I think RTC stands for Road Traffic Collision.

To be perfectly correct the Marine Drive starts at Weld Road and ends at The Plough.

However all of it is commonly known as The Coast(al) Road

The RTC was northbound on the Coast Rd approx 300yrds short of te sewage works in the 50mph zone.

Trust all involved are OK and everyone has valid up to date insurance!
