Officers from Merseyside Police today removed a couple who were living in a Promenade toilet.

Acting on a tip off the officers got the couple to open the toilet door. Once the door was open the couple were asked to leave. They had been using cardboard and old blankets to keep warm.

After removing the mess they were allowed to go on their way.

'Acting on a tip off' - human kindness is alive and well in Southport, then.

Why do people have to interfere in this way. Obviously this couple had nowhere else to go. They didnt need the indignity of the police being involved. Why not offer to help them find a home?

Anti social behaviour and vandalism rampant in the town centre/promenade - and exactly what harm were this couple doing?

A big hand for Merseyside Police, you should be thoroughly proud of yourselves........not.

There really are some prize clowns that post on here - a couple of the usual suspects as expected. The homeless usually bed down in the disabled/baby change cubicle and invariably leave it in rag order - defacating on the floor, cig but burns on the changing shelf, sharps left lying around (sometimes in places designed to catch out the unwary) and are invariably aggressive towards the young lady who cleans these facilities.
Managed to staunch the flow from your bleeding hearts yet?

For your information, the bobbies concerned took them to the housing Centre on Eastbank St and helped them in every way.
Know the facts before you slag people off.

Yes, i have seen that poor girl cleaning them. She works on her own and is down there at night when many of those gangs are around. It can't be a nice job anyway - but having to deal with druggies and the like giving her abuse for doing her job- makes it worse !
