Last Friday, the Environment Agency attended a meeting to discuss with members of the public, local councillors, and MP Lorraine Fullbrook its draft plan for the Lower Alt with Crossens Pumped Drainage Catchment.
At the meeting, officers presented the draft strategic plan for the area, and took a number of questions from those in attendance about the consultation documents.
The current public consultation will continue to run until 16 December, after which we will be pausing to take stock of all the consultation responses and feedback.
This analysis of initial feedback will help to shape further community engagement and consultation which we intend to undertake in the first few months of 2012.
Adam Walsh, for the Environment Agency said: “We have been hosting public drop in sessions over recent weeks to discuss the consultation with people face to face and we need to continue to work with the local community to understand their concerns on the draft plans.
“Although the closing date for this initial consultation is 16 December, this will not be the end of the process and no final decisions have yet been taken. “
