Free Cycle Training Events
Free courses are on offer to help children develop their cycling road skills and confidence.
The two Bikeability events, which run over two sessions, take place in the February half term at Litherland Sports Park and Dunes Splashworld, Southport.
They are organised by Sefton Council's Travel Awareness and Safety Team and aimed at children aged nine and over.
The two-day courses run on Tuesday, February 14, and Thursday, February 16. They start at 10am until 2.30pm including a 30-minute break where children should bring along a packed lunch.
Jean Hunt, from Sefton's Travel Awareness and Safety team, said: "The courses have been timed for the school holidays and offer a great opportunity for young people to learn important cycling skills.
"At these particular sessions, children must be able to ride a bike unaided and need to come along with a roadworthy bike and helmet. We also advise that suitable clothing is worn as we will be outdoors for most of the time.
"Numbers are strictly limited and normally courses fill up very quickly so we would encourage people to get in touch straight away to avoid missing out."
To book a place, call 0151-934 4259.
* Adult cycling courses are also taking place on Wednesday, February 15 (10am and 1pm) at Litherland Sports Park. The sessions are aimed at cyclists of all abilities to improve confidence. Call 0151-934 4259.

Great to see 'Bikeability' hasn't been scrapped with the councils cuts and continues into 2012......Initiatives that encourage younger folk to use a bike are essential if we're to reduce greenhouse emissions in future years - also makes for a healthier population.
