QLocal took these exclusive interior pics of The Becc. this lunchtime

Specialists from Bolton demolition company Bradley's are busy removing any dangerous asbestos before the building is levelled in the near future.

One reckoned it would be flattened in a day - a sad ending for a local institution.

There tearing down our public meeting places to make more private housing.
Our country is a shadow of the freindly sociable place I grew up in. I feel sorry for the people of Hesketh Bank commuter land.

For the amount of new housing that has already been built in that area, and given that the only other nearest 'pubs' are almost together in Tarleton - You'd have thought that the place would have been 'buzzing' with trade, with the kids catered for and family meals , plenty parking etc. and never subject to closure. Obviously this was not the case.
Sad to see it go, but look at the salvage that someone will make a absolute killing from.
    RIP Beck

I used to go to the Bec fairly regularly when younger, but if few from the area supported the business then there's sadly no future for it.

It is a great shame. It is also very sad that the bowling green was closed a number of years ago.

It was a very 'testing green' to play upon.
