Syria is going to the dogs. The Gaza strip is going to the dogs. places were thousands of people are dying needlessly every week so they can have basic human rights.
A couple of scared people does not constitute a town going to the dogs. There are far worse places to live in the UK.
This.

I have heard that he handed himself in, to the Police.

Why not look at crime statistics? According to the site below, crime rates in Southport have fallen since 2008/9.

Great post!
I had to chuckle when I read one of the posts on the news forum. One of our resident Einsteins said "Southport, crime capital of the world". What a bubble some people must live in.

Correct love. He turned up at Southport police station Monday night, absolutely legless and in tears.
He was too drunk to be interviewed, so he was arrested, cautioned, locked up for the night and interviewed the next day (Tuesday).
His friend, another cabb'ie in the same company, also killed himself.
It's all been reported in tonight's papers now, so nothing here is new.
