Last Chance to Save Facilities in Botanic and Hesketh Park
This is your last chance to sign the petition to save the facilities in Botanic Gardens and Hesketh Park! We have just over 2,000 signatures but 3,000 would be better! Please sign the petition if you haven't already done so - if you have then Thank You
Can anybody take a petition and gather some more names - the Bold, Hesketh and Shrimper results were disappointing to say the least with less than 100 names between them - could somebody go round one evening and grab some more signatures? swampeyes and myself are going to gather some more from Churchtown School tomorrow - can anybody be at Larkfield/Presfield Schools tomorrow - best working in pairs if you can?
We have to have the signatures in by Thursday afternoon so we don't have very long for this push!

I should be able to get some more signatures, but I can't do school times. Has the petition been put on the Ormskirk site ?

Tougholdbird, I've got another 49 signatures so I'll put them through your door at some point today, probably around 1.30 (if the dogs will let me)

Now posted on the Ormskirk site, online numbers going up a little.
Hi wicked witch, well done for more signatures, where did you collect them? I might get out tomorrow for a last try.

signed and forwarded to many contacts - fingers crossed

As the meeting on Friday never got around to making any decisions about the playing fields/bowling greens/croquet lawns/ football pitches etc I wonder whether they will get around to talking about Botanic Gardens/Hesketh Park at their next meeting.
They, apparantly, spent so much time reviewing the comments from the online and written petitions that they never got around to making any decisions about the potential rises in the charges.
So those of us who are likely to be affected by the potential rising costs may not get an answer before the commencement of the playing season.

Am told that the decision with regard to parks, etc., will be made at the Council Meeting on 1st March - keep the signatures coming until mid-day Friday!

Still time left, every signature helps.

I must have all signatures in by mid-day tomorrow so that I can get them to the Councillors at the week-end; the decision will be made on 1st March!
