    Is the Old Rugged Cross count as a hymn/church song, if so, that one.

    I liked "Give Me Oil In My Lamp", "this little light of mine" but my favourite is

    If I were a butterfly,
    I'd thank you, Lord, for giving me wings;
    And if I were a robin in a tree,
    I'd thank you Lord, that I could sing;
    And if I were a fish in the sea,
    I'd wiggle my tail and I'd giggle with glee;
    But I just Thank You Father, for making me - ME!

    'Cause you gave me a heart and
    You gave me a smile
    You gave me Jesus, and
    You made me His Child
    And I just Thank You, Father
    For making me - ME!

    I remember every now and then we would sing Onward Christian Soldiers but I don't know why we did as every time we did all the boys would start to stamp their feet as in marching onward. They would do this despite the fact that every time we sang the headmistress would pre-warn us that anyone who stamped their feet would be dragged out and punished in some way. It was only years later that I thought why the bloody hell did they tell us to sing it when they knew what would happen, and did, every. single. time.

    I remember Onward Christian Soldiers!! And one where we used to whisper one line in it, think it went something like "and hushed the wind......"

    Oh and one about "I have a brother in *somewhere* a sister in *somewhere* " and so on, I can't remember the somewheres but remember singing it with real gusto!!!

    Happy simple memories!!

    Classical piece I think (well always played at last night of proms) - but I have always considered it to be a hymn

    oh oh is it this one

    If I had a hammer, I'd hammer in the morning, I'd hammer in the evening, All over this land, I'd hammer out danger, I'd hammer out a warning, I'd hammer out love between, My brothers and my sisters, All over this land.
    If I had a bell, I'd ring it in the morning, I'd ring it in the evening, All over this land, I'd ring out danger, I'd ring out a warning, I'd ring out love between, My brothers and my sisters, All over this land.
    If I had a song I'd sing it in the morning........................................... ...........

    only when you sang 'all' it had four syllables, like aw, aw, aw, awll over this land.

    I always enjoyed "May Arseholes Be Pure and Spotless"
    as the Host of wheat so fine... etc... ...

    Why do people never admit to being just the right amount of whelmed?
