Supporting patients with Kidney Disease in the Southport and surrounding area since 1979.

Funds raised go back to the patients who we assist with a Christmas and Holiday gift each year. There is also a heating allowance available to those too young to be eligible for the Government scheme which is again paid annually.

All requests for financial assistance are dealt with individually and are agreed at committee meetings which take place currently each Wednesday evening at 7pm at Southport Dialysis Unit, Southport & Formby District General Hospital, Town Lane, Kew, Southport.

Membership of the fund is free and anyone who is a patient, a carer or who just wishes to help us is welcome to join or to attend a committee meeting at any time although it is wise to give us prior notice as there is limited space in our current location.

Members of the Committee are either patients themselves, carers or have an association with someone with kidney failure. We are therefor able to offer support not just to patients, but to their families and friends as between them they have a broad experience of living life with kidney failure.

We fought for 20 years to achieve a Dialysis Unit in Southport which finally came to fruition in 2010. We are now looking at other long term goals which will help our patients and their families.
