fire service were on strike and the green goddesses were in action (with

Resident Kevin Sheedy wants to put the records straight regarding the national
newspaper reports that he was sacked by Tranmere Rovers FC. Kevin Sheedy
was paid double figures in money terms and keeps hold of Tranmere's Rovers
sponsors car until the new season starts. Kevin is presently in
negotiations with a new club.

boasts a new World Champion. Local golfer George Carter, from Birkdale,
won the world one armed champion golf tournament in Ireland last week,
Playing against 75 competitors from all over the world including USA,
Austrialia, George won by 5 shots. This is George's 4th world title. Well
done George!

Man found dead at Clifton - Thursday 5th July 2001
|

|
The
body of a 37 year old man staying at the Clifton Hotel (believed to
be working
on a building site on the Kew Estate) has
been found in the car park of the hotel. Police
have taken a man in for questioning. The
body was found at 5am this morning. A
lady staying at the hotel said that she was talking to this man and his
friends at 1am and they where having a good time and a singalong. Report
