There
was an head-on car crash on the Coastal Rd / Pinfold Lane bridge, Both
drivers and passengers were taken to Southport & Formby Hospital where
the condition of one drivers is very poorly. Police said that relatives
were being informed of the accident. Pictured are the scene of the

accident happened this afternoon at the roundabout Guilford Rd / Benthams
Way, when a motorist driving into Southport skidded on ice hitting the
Metro car (pictured below) knocking it onto the pavement and into the
wooden fence .Pictured below is the lucky driver of the Metro Jason Reed
from Liverpool, who sustained a minor back injury. Onthespot.

Regulars
from The Devonshire Sports & Social Club, High Park Southport started
off at the club tonight on a twelve pub crawl having to drink one pint of
beer in each pub to raise funds for the Winged Fellowship Trust Sandpipers
Southport, Already having a large donation from Mr Allen (Roundtrees
Restaurant, Lord Street). The fancy dress regulars hope to raise at total
of £1,500 towards holidays for the disabled people and breaks for carers.
You may of seen them out tonight in one of the following pubs- Volly,
Ship, Wellington, Coronet, Falstaff, Yates, Fountain, Fox/G, O'Neils,
Albert and last but not least Ronnies.
Looking
after the Devonshire Club while regulars are fundraising are Mr & Mrs
Quinn and longest serving barmaid Mrs Fleetwood. Onthespot.

Council Worker John Wright Retires after 49yrs ,John started work as an
apprentice gardener for the Southport Corporation at the age of 15. He
then went to work as the green keeper at the Municipal Golf Course (The
Park). He has worked on the course ever since (44 years). John plans to
spend his time running & keeping fit. Onthespot.

Business Man Alan Campbell is back in Court tomorrow 12/12/01, This time
it's for the second part of the damages award against the News Of The
World Newspaper. This time and which follows the judgement are in respect
of his loss of earnings for 6 years stated to be circa of two million
pounds plus interest! There then remains a similar action ongoing against
channel 4 and channel 7 & others who published the false story twice
after the News Of The World story appeared. Onthespot.
