Fact:
4 in 10 people in the UK develop cancer at some time during their
lifetime and that figure is set to rise - We are here to help! |
|
We
are a charity that supports people with cancer, and their families, with
specialist information, treatment and care.
Macmillan
helps over 200,000 people a year, not just people living with cancer,
but their families, friends, and carers too. Many of those people are
from this town and surrounding areas.
We
like to think that everyone has probably heard of Macmillan, but do you
know that we are not funded by any government department, and that we
rely 100% on national and local fundraising?
|
|
What
can you do?
|
|
Your
help is needed to support our charity in many ways. Whether it is
participating in events, just a bit of your time and skills, or a lot -
every bit really does count. We are always on the lookout for new
initiatives and / or gifts as prizes, whether as individuals, groups, or
businesses.
We
need volunteers as well. Here, in and around Southport, we have
over 150 people subscribing to our newsletter, people who will gladly
help our cause where ever and whenever they can.
In
addition, there is a team of dedicated volunteers, that are willing to
help in many ways and at many times.
Whatever
you can do to help - it is always valuable and always appreciated.
