HYPNO- COUNSELLING
What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnosis is a natural state of heightened awareness often associated with relaxation, where the client becomes open to suggestion and the imagination can be used to make positive and permanent changes.
Hypnotherapy is a form of healing that can be traced back thousands of years to cultures where dancing and chanting were used as healing rituals. In ancient Egypt people visited sleep temples where they were seen to enter a trance like state before being cured of common ailments. By using the power of your mind, a Hypnotherapist can work with a client to discover the physical and emotional problems and begin to effect a cure.
Will I remember what happened?
Yes, most people are surprised to find that they remember all that has happened during therapy, it is a state of heightened not diminished awareness.
So I'm not asleep then?
No, simply very relaxed.
Are there any causes for concern?
None whatsoever. Hypnotherapy is a proven therapeutic aid.
Can I speak whilst in hypnosis?
Yes, and in hypnoanalysis you will be encouraged to do so.
Can I be influenced against my will?
No, and in fact you would be shocked out of the hypnotic state should such an occasion happen.
WHAT IS COUNSELLING?
As with most therapies the practitioner aims to build a relationship with the client that enables treatment to take place in an empathetic and supportive way. Therapy has meant for me gaining insight about myself, becoming increasingly aware of what motivates me, exploring the choices I have in my life, speaking the unspoken, finding out how I kid myself and becoming more aware of which of my ways of behaving weren't working for me. Through therapy I learn how I organise myself to create those behaviours, and therefore how to disorganise them. Therapy has meant and means much to me and my belief in it motivates me to facilitate other people to work on themselves in order to lead more satisfying lives.
I see the overall aim of my work as a counsellor and psychotherapist is to provide an opportunity for the client to work towards living in a more fulfilling and resourceful way.
Therapy must be concerned with addressing and resolving specific problems, making decisions, coping with crisis, developing personal insight, awareness and knowledge, working through feelings or improving relationships.
Hypnotherapy = subconscious.
Counselling = conscious.
It makes sense to get your head together and have both conscious and subconscious working for you to help change your life!
WHAT IS HYPNO-COUNSELLING?
Hypno-counselling is a way of combining these two tried and tested therapies for the good of the client. Having experienced both the counselling process and hypnotherapy with my own issues. I immediately realised the potential of how these two therapies brought together could help clients let go of their own issues in a much faster time than the counselling process alone.
Audio tapes are supplied for the client during hypnotherapy to help the client practice the relaxation and 'self hypnosis' techniques they have learned at home.
The issues that may be helped with Hypno-Counselling include...
Phobias and Habits. Pain Relief. Weight Control. To give up Smoking. Relief from Irritable Bowel Syndrome and other digestive problems. Improved sports performance and concentration. Boost self esteem. Manage stress. Insomnia. Feelings of guilt and panic attacks. Emotional distress. Anger management. Driving tests.
Go ahead, change your life!
