Anyone recognise where this 'little man' on our logo comes from?
It used to belong to "The Bosuns Locker for over 60 years".
Graham, the owner of Hesketh Hardware used to co-own The Bosuns Locker with his father and brother.
Graham says "The Bosuns Locker was a big part of my life, so I wanted to bring something of the old shop with me"
His 25 years experience in the building and DIY industry helped Graham establish Hesketh Hardware and it still sells much of the same DIY and hardware as the old days. "Times do move on but the likes of gate handles, latches, locks, screws etc still remain the same"
"I still use the same English Black Ironware and Brass furniture suppliers I used 20 years ago, as they are proven quality products - quality lasts"
His swift and thriving key cutting service keeps him very busy. He cuts most household cylinder (Yale type) keys, mortice, padlock and even safe keys and added to this he also provides a lock fitting facility.
Graham also changes his stock from
season to season.
"In the summer months I sell a lot of plants and compost and gardening products, and as it turns to winter out comes the coal. Along with the bags of coal we also sell logs, fire grates and fire guards and most fire related products, for those cosy nights in front of the fire.
"It's amazing how many people still like a real fire, so much so, this winter I'm going to sell log or multi fuel burning stoves...watch this space"!
